Facts. It’s not hype—it’s hard work with fancy math and cold hardware. -

This should be shown to anyone who says “quantum computing is just hype.”-
Henry replied 7 months agoHonestly feels more like a threat. Once quantum breaks RSA, everything we use today is toast 😬
-
Charlotte replied 7 months agoThat’s the scary part, yeah. But do you think it’s a when or an if? Most experts say we still have some runway.
-
Henry replied 7 months agoTrue, but migrations take YEARS. Governments and banks move slow.
-
Charlotte replied 7 months agoExactly. That’s why “harvest now, decrypt later” worries me more than instant chaos.

eunice.test replied 7 months agoI see it more as an opportunity. Post-quantum cryptography is already being standardized.
-
Charlotte replied 7 months agoGood point. NIST rolling out PQC feels like the calm before the storm 😅
Are companies actually adopting it yet though?-
eunice.test replied 7 months agoMostly pilots. A lot of “we’ll deal with it later” energy.
-
Charlotte replied 7 months agoAh yes, cybersecurity’s favorite strategy 😆

Drake replied 6 months, 4 weeks agoEveryone talks about breaking encryption, but quantum can also strengthen security—QKD, better randomness, etc.
-
Charlotte replied 6 months, 4 weeks agoI’m glad someone brought this up. Quantum isn’t just the villain arc.
Do you think QKD will scale beyond niche use cases?-
Drake replied 6 months, 4 weeks agoScaling is the big question. Infrastructure costs are brutal.
-
Charlotte replied 6 months, 4 weeks agoYeah, “theoretically perfect” meets “real-world budget” real fast.
